When fishing in open water, for maximum grip push the ribbed peg full into the rubber sleeve to allow maximum grip.
When fishing near snags, weed of pads push the peg into it slightly allowing the backlead to release if necessary.

Great bit of kit – adjustable tension allows the lead to pull off in heavy weed or silt but stays put if fishing in clear waters. Great results keeping the line pinned down without fear of snagging up.
